Our team is on cloud nine after finding out we received the Gold Sustainable Tourism Business Award from Qualmark.

This is no mean feat. From over two thousand businesses surveyed only around 10 percent gain the top award.

Qualmark is New Zealand tourism’s official quality assurance organisation, providing a trusted guide to quality travel experiences in New Zealand. Qualmark assessors, all experts in the tourism field, visit each business and look at such things as sustainability, environmental awareness, health and safety, marketing and customer satisfaction.

"Qualmark's Sustainable Tourism Business (STB) Criteria has become the first in New Zealand to gain GSTC-Recognised Status from the Global Sustainable Tourism Council, meaning members can be confident that achieving Qualmark certification meets global standards of sustainability. Founded in 2007, the GSTC is a United Nations-initiated programme that establishes and manages global standards for sustainable travel and tourism, known as the GSTC Criteria."
